Summers, which recently have had smaller-than-average rainfall, tend to be hot and humid with afternoon thunderstorms and temperatures topping out in the high 80s and low 90s. August and September tend to be the warmest months, and the most active for tropical storms and hurricanes; hurricane season runs from June 1-November 30.

Spring is beautiful with temperatures averaging in the high 60s in March to mid-high 70s in April and May. Fall sees average temperatures in the mid-60s to mid-70s.

Winter temperatures average high 50s to high 60s. Occasional freeze warnings and freezes occur throughout the season, and cold fronts usually last for only a few days before warming again.
