Living in Tampa Bay. Loving it!

UPDATE: The farm is holding a "Cleaning the Field" Harvest & Closeout Sale on May 31, 2009 from 12-4 p.m. Members get first pick, then it's open to the public. On June 6 enjoy the Tampa Communicy Drum Circle from 7:30-11 p.m. The farm will close for the summer after June 6.

Sweetwater Valley Organic Community Farm is a urban, organic farm in the heart of Tampa. Believe me, you'd never know it was there!

Special Events at the Farm

Every Sunday from noon - 4 p.m. (Nov.-May) the farm is alive with music, and a small market is open to the public. You can buy everything from natural fiber clothes to coffee to produce. Bring a picnic or buy food there to enjoy while you listen to music.

The farm also features a music series, workshops and internships. Volunteers are also always welcome on the farm. There are many opportunities to enjoy and support this community farm.

Want to Become a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Member?

To get a good idea of what members receive, stop by the Sunday Market. Sundays is one of the days members pick up their shares, so you can check out what's being picked up that week.

The produce is placed out in a sheltered area. A listing of produce items and the amount of item that each member is entitled to is written on a large chalk board by the produce. They try to have 10-15 different items available each week. Members go down the rows picking up their share. If there is any produce a member does not want, they can put it in the swap box at the end and pick out another piece of produce to replace that item.

Applications for the 2009-2010 harvest season are being taken now. To learn more about the farm or to download an application, visit http://www.sweetwater-organic.org/.
