Best BeachesFort DeSoto Park The seven miles of powder-white sand at Fort DeSoto Park on Mullet Key were named America's best beach in 2005. The park is also a great place for fishing, boating and birdwatching, with walking trails and a historic fort to explore. St. Pete Beach is one of many white-sand beaches backed by busy resorts on this stretch of the Gulf Coast. At its southern end, Pass-a-Grille retains some of its old fishing-village charm, with early 1900s homes and a quieter stretch of beach. Clearwater Beach Named the top city beach in the Gulf region, Clearwater Beach is long, wide and even has a few dunes. Pier 60 Park is a family recreation complex on the beach with covered playgrounds, fishing and entertainment. Treasure Island The municipal beach at Treasure Island is an extraordinarily wide stretch of sand dotted with stilt houses. A bridge connects it with Madeira Beach and John's Pass Village, styled like a fishing village with a pier and marina, and offering gambling cruises. Caladesi Island State Park Reached by a ferry from Honeymoon Island, the beautiful and peaceful beach at Caladesi Island State Park consistently ranks among America's top ten beaches. When you're tired of swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing, there is a nature trail to explore. Need more personalized information on local beaches? Click Here.
