There are two things I really love (besides my wife, who's always #1!): Drums and Real Estate.

In 2005 I put drums aside to move into the world of real estate full time, hanging my shingle as “A.J. Altieri, Realtor.”

Why real estate?

I’m like a sponge, constantly absorbing information — there is always something else to learn. So as my wife and I successfully bought and sold properties over the years, I absorbed a lot of information about the Tampa Bay real estate market, home buying and selling. With the knowledge I gained as a participant, I am now helping others realize their dreams of owning a home or business.

Having lived, worked and raised a family in Tampa for more than three decades, I know the neighborhoods, schools, market conditions, zoning regulations and local economy. As a professional realtor, I’ve built connections throughout the mortgage industry to help get you the best deal possible. I'll guide you through the complexities of buying and/or selling a home, eliminating the hassles and stress.

Did you mention drums?

I started drumming when I was only 5 years old, and later studied percussion at the University of South Florida. In 1979, I started selling drums for what was then Thoroughbred Music, developing their drum and mail-order business. After Sam Ash Music bought out Thoroughbred Music in 1999, I opened AJ's Pro Percussion, a 3,000-square-foot full-line pro drum shop on Hillsborough Ave. It was a fun time in my life.

So what about music?

Playing drums is still a hobby of mine. I still love playing the drums and I still welcome an opportunity to play.

What made you choose real estate?

I love it! No, really! I love working with people, hearing their stories, and listening to their needs, and it’s an exciting challenge for me to go out and find their perfect home. Nothing is quite so rewarding as to see someone’s happiness as they take the keys to their new home for the first time!
