Living in Tampa Bay. Loving it!

Getting an oil change is one of those necessary evils -- the time wasted sitting in a waiting room; the kids driving you nuts; thinking about all the other things you really need to get done that day.

Wednesday the three of us went to Kids Day at Century Buick*Pontiac*GMC (on Hillsborough Ave. west of I-275) on the promise of a $19.99 oil change, free Starbuck's coffee, and stuff to keep my daughter occupied. Surprisingly, we weren't disappointed!

The kids room was full of toys and books and a large-screen TV tuned to Disney Playhouse. My husband and I had a latte and mocha while she played. Through the kids room window we watched a women get her hair colored in the salon/barber shop. Next to the hair salon was the nail salon, offering manicures and pedicures while you wait. The cafe offered a big-screen TV playing ESPN, bistro tables, and a row of computer desks where you can plug in and work while you wait.

I didn't even mind that the service took the usual amount of time because everybody was happy.

Digg!
